History: Built in 1919 by Dalt McDonald, one of Bronte’s most well known shipbuilders, for Fred and Ida Belyea. Dalt was involved in many building projects in the Bronte area during the early part of the century. The Belyea family were among the earliest settlers in the Bronte area and in the late 1800s became involved in the sailing and fishing trades out of Bronte Harbour. In 1923 the Belyea family moved to Simcoe Island for better fishing and rented out the house on 3128 Seneca Dr. as a summer home. After WWII, the house was sold to the Patterson family.
